Yalova University Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Vefik Arıca stated that cranberries contain high amounts of vitamins A, C, E and K, which strengthen the immune system. Prof. Dr. Vefik Arıca said that cranberry is a fruit that contains magnesium and calcium. Explaining that there are many wild cranberry fruits in Turkey, Arıca noted that grafted cranberry fruits are frequently produced around Yalova, Bursa and Malatya. Emphasizing the slimming properties of this fruit, Prof. Dr. Arıca said, “Cranberry grown in these 3 regions is used in obesity due to its satiety-increasing, edema-increasing properties and fat-dissolving properties. “If we combine cinnamon and cloves in the cranberry fruit, boil it in 2 liters of water, then warm it and drink 2 glasses of water every morning on an empty stomach, we can lose an average of 8-10 kilos in 1 month,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Arıca added that cranberries help lose weight and said, “Cranberries can also be used as sherbet or dried fruit. “We recommend using the dried fruit several times in children to prevent frequent infections,” he said.
