So far, several players have reached level 100 in Diablo 4 and have thus been able to secure a place in the ranking. Wudijo settled into 3rd place and took on the hardest boss in the game. This failed and he had to abandon the fight before losing his character.
What is the ranking? Spots on the top list are hotly contested as Blizzard immortalizes Diablo 4’s 1,000 toughest players in a Lilith statue. This means players’ BattleTags will be etched into a physical statue of Lilith that reach level 100 in hardcore mode.
The top list fills up
Who secured the top spots on the list? In hardcore mode, “cArn_” snagged first place on the top list, earning it an engraving on the Lilith statue. According to cArn_ the grind was very exhausting.
Although “Rob2628” secured first place in the general ranking almost 54 hours and 30 minutes after the release – but “only” in normal mode. He ended his run with the words “That was fun!”
Now Wudijo ranks 3rd overall and 2nd in hardcore rankings. But he was the first to reach level 100 in hardcore mode solo, i.e. without playing with friends.
With his level 100 hunter, Wudijo was one of the first players in his live stream, which has lasted more than 14 hours, to defeat the hardest boss in Diablo 4 – Echo of Lilith.
After the first phase, however, there was a problem.
You can see the failed attempt here:
Cheat potion is not enough
What was his problem? In the stream video you can see how Wudijo prepares for the fight. Previously, he has consumed a potion that temporarily immunizes him and grants him a protective shield in a threatening situation.
As you can see in the clip from the symbols above his ability bar, the effect of the potion is running out. So before he loses his security, he teleports back to the city after the first phase of the fight, which lasted about 24 minutes.
Once there, Wudijo says the fight is taking far too long. His potion wouldn’t be enough for that. He needs at least two pieces for this, but he cannot currently produce them.
Still, he laughs and says, “The fight is epic!”
Why did he stop the fight? In hardcore mode you lose your character if you die. This is of course annoying, especially considering the many hours of play that you have invested. If you don’t want to grind non-stop, you’ll be stuck at it for several weeks and have to start all over again if you die.
After 18 hours, Wudijo ends his live stream and says, “We haven’t defeated Lilith yet. But we will.”
Wudijo put his fighter build together in just 5 minutes, but he wants to think more about it the next time, the player says. If you want to save yourself the brooding, we have a build for you here:
