Sweden led 6-1 against Switzerland, but in the end only won 7-5.
Viaplay expert Erik Granqvist was not very impressed with how the Junior crowns played at the end of the match.

The junior crowns have won all matches
It has gone very well for Sweden so far. They started by defeating Slovakia 5-2 on Boxing Day. Then Kazakhstan was crushed 8-1. In the third and penultimate group stage match, the Junior Crowns won against Switzerland 7-5. Now the group final against the Czech Republic awaits on New Year’s Eve. The winner of that match takes home the entire group.

Sweden had a reassuring 6-1 lead against Switzerland before the third period. Tom Willander had accounted for two of the goals.
– You shoot and then you hope it goes in too. When the puck comes, just try to slam it in as hard as possible. There is not a lot of thought behind it, he says and smiles in Viaplay’s broadcast.

But not everyone was equally happy and satisfied. After the Junior crowns lost from 7-2 to 7-4 (both goals Swiss power play), there was a bit of nerves in the match again. Then the Swiss also scored a fifth goal, also on the power play. Viaplay’s expert Erik Granqvist was furious because Sweden incurred so many expulsions in the final period.
– There is a lack of discipline in the third period, he says in the broadcast.

Theo Lindstein picked up Sweden’s sixth expulsion after he was caught cross-checking. Then Granqvist’s disappointment was total.
