Expert bets with sponsor to defeat the hardest boss in Hardcore, can give fans a super PC

It’s not unusual for streamers to face the toughest bosses in Diablo 4’s hardcore mode. Now, however, a PC company has made a tough bet with one of them – and the entire community helped the streamer.

The boss “Uber Lilith” is a really tough nut to crack that many people have despaired of. She is also responsible for numerous character losses, because if a character dies in hardcore mode, it is permanent. Some players say that the fight against Lilith feels as hard as the fight against the “Tormented Echoes.”

On May 31, Diablo expert and Twitch streamer DarthMicrotransaction (DM for short) reported on YouTube that his sponsor Starforge had made a bet with him. If DM can defeat the boss Uber Lilith under certain conditions, he can give away a “really good PC” to his community. DM accepted the bet and prepared for days.

“Everyone wants this free PC”

What were the conditions? DM must defeat Uber Lilith in hardcore mode. To do so, he may not use any “helps” such as a scroll that protects him from impending death by teleporting him away. In concrete terms, this means:

  • DM must play in hardcore mode until Lilith dies – or his player character
  • Without Scroll of Escape
  • He must defeat them on the first try
  • DM summarizes the conditions in the YouTube video and notes: “This is probably the point where [der Starforge-Mitarbeiter] Maybe he doesn’t realize it, but he messed it up.” Because many people saw the bet on the stream, according to DM, “about a thousand people.” Everyone wanted to win this PC and so the reactions were “pretty funny.”

How did his community react? On his Discord server, various players posted “Immortal builds” for the sorceress, including video clips. According to the DM, the general tone was: “We can do it, guys.”

Individual players offered to help him test the builds on Uber Lilith in softcore mode before he tried it in hardcore mode. It was “hilarious” and everyone immediately joined forces. DM then prepared for the bet in the livestream.

How did DM prepare? He created a “clone” of his sorceress in softcore mode to test the builds. He leveled the character up to level 100, farmed the right equipment and went to the “Echo of Lilith”. His plan was: if he could defeat her several times, he would switch to hardcore mode and take the bet.

The video begins with the caption: “Starforge PC made a mistake.” There you can see his preparation and the final fight against Uber Lilith in hardcore mode from 10:52 minutes:

So how did the bet go? On June 3rd, the “final day” arrived and DM faced Uber Lilith in hardcore mode. He equipped the Firebolt, the Flame Shield and the Fire Wall as skills. In the video you can see that the community cheered the streamer on in the chat with “Let’s Go!” messages. Starforge wrote in between: “And a bug is coming soon.”

According to the timer, DM Uber defeated Lilith after just under 34 minutes. He then said: “So Starforge, now that I’ve destroyed you in a competition, what’s next?” He then turned to his community: “We should be able to take something else from them.”

During the fight, DM joked that streamers wudijo and Raxxanterax would probably level up their characters to level 100 before defeating Lilith. They weren’t quite that fast, but the two streamers and two others actually reached the max level in hardcore mode within four hours. And they also faced Uber Lilith. Here you can find out how it turned out.
