Exhibition: Mark Rothko honored at the Vuitton Foundation

Exhibition Mark Rothko honored at the Vuitton Foundation

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is devoting a major retrospective to Mark Rothko. The painter of Russian Jewish origin grew up in the United States where his family emigrated when he was ten years old. An artist with a tragic destiny, he committed suicide at the age of 67. Yet throughout the exhibition, his powerful work radiates life and light. His large contemplative abstract paintings are there, but also his first research in figuration.
