Exclusive Bridgerton event turned into an absolute nightmare for fans

Earlier this year, a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory turned out to be a traumatic experience for many children in the UK. Now it has hit fans of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, who travelled to Detroit, Michigan to be part of a widely announced ball event to become.

What at first glance sounds like the perfect way to shorten the wait for season 4 is now causing a lot of negative headlines. Apparently, the Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball a bitter disappointment for fans of the series. Some even call the event a scam.

“It was absolutely horrific”: Bridgerton fans experience their own version of the Wonka Glasgow trauma

The Hollywood Reporter summarizes various reports on the failed event and illustrates the whole thing with social media posts that show a picture of the sad situation on site. The most prominent thread on Twitter starts directly with a snapshot that shows anything but a magnificent ball in a Bridgerton setting.

Fans were promised an evening of good food and classical music. They got… nothing. Or at least nothing of what they had imagined. After just an hour, the food was said to have run out, while a lonely violinist tried to bring the Regency era to life.

Or as one of the fan voices quoted by the Hollywood Reporter sums it up:

My family and I just left the Detroit Bridgerton Ball. It was absolutely terrible. There was nowhere to sit. Although the venue was beautiful, the decor was sparse and extremely kitschy. There was not even a Bridgerton theme! We spent $400 on the tickets, and that was for an absolutely crappy experience! Horrendous prices for a mega disappointment: This is how the organizer of the failed Bridgerton ball reacts

A ticket for the Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball is said to have cost between 150 and 1000 US dollars. As the Hollywood Reporter notes, Netflix has nothing to do with it. The official Bridgerton ball, which is hosted by the streaming service, is called The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience.

Uncle N Me LLC, the organizer of the Bootleg Ball, reportedly released the following statement:

We understand that our recent Sunday night event at The Harmonie Club was not the experience everyone had hoped for and for that we sincerely apologize. Our intention was to host a magical evening but we recognize that organizational issues impacted the enjoyment of some guests. We take full responsibility for these deficiencies.

Improvement is promised for the next event. Bridgerton fans should just as suspicious like their Wonka counterparts the next time they are offered a golden ticket to a ball.
