At 8.30 am on Thursday, the emergency services and police were alerted to an accident on national road 70, after Spjutmodammen between Mora and Älvdalen.
An excavator and two cars have collided and five people have been taken to hospital, with unclear injuries.
– The injured are of mixed ages, there are both adults and children, says Gabriel Henning, spokesperson for the Bergslagen police region.
The police have been on the scene and will hold interviews with those involved. At first there was a complete standstill on the road, but now the traffic is moving again.
