It’s soon time to sit down in front of the US Open, a golf competition where the world’s best golfers compete to take home first place. A qualification commitment is held for golfers who meet one or all of the following criteria. You either have to be a professional golfer, or be an amateur and have a handicap of 1.4 or lower in order to stand a chance of qualifying for the US Open.
The USGA is responsible for organizing events where golfers from around the world can compete to qualify for the competition. These events are held in about 100 locations around the United States, which also does not make it so strange that it is mainly American players who participate in the US Open. Through the ages, it is also the United States that has had the largest number of winners. If you end up high enough in the section qualifiers, you will be awarded a place in the competition.
When will the US Open be held?
For this year’s US Open, it is the month of June that you should aim for if you want to follow the competition. More specifically, Thursday 16 June to Sunday 19 June, you will be able to see the players compete for the title directly on the TV screen.
Where can you check out the US Open?
From Sweden, there are many Swedish channels that will broadcast and follow the competition with commentators. However, in several cases you may be required to add sports or golf channels such as V Sport Golf or Viaplay in order for you to have access to all content.
This is worth checking with your TV company a bit before the US Open is organized, so that you can ensure that you have access to the channels that are needed and if it then alternatively needs to be added to certain content.
