Festivals in June

Northern Norway Festival in Harstad, Norway June 22-29

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and therefore start a day earlier. A family-friendly festival with various activities for children and adults – everything from music, art to culture.

The Chris Festival in Kjøllefjord, Norway June 26-June 29

Is a small music festival that was initially only meant to be a “one time event”, which became an annual event.

Kiruna Festival in Kiruna 27 June–29 June

The festival has invited both Sami artists such as Dear Sara and Keiino and artists such as Molly Hammar, Norlie & KKV and Carola will also come to the mining town.

BeskánLuossarock in Karasjok, Norway June 28-29

Is a Sami music festival that this year moved to the center of Karasjok. This year it is packed with several Sami artists such as Sančuari, Beyond Rivers and and traditional yojkas. This year they also have a children’s and youth program on Friday.

Festivals in July

Alperocken in Øksfjord, Norway 5-6 July

During the day there are family-friendly Sami activities and in the evenings it is where, among others, HP Electric Dream, Elle Maija, Rolffa and Stage Dolls perform.

Ride riđđu in Manndalen, Norway July 10-13

Annual International Indigenous Festival. With concerts, seminars, art, craft courses and performances.

Midnight Rock in Lakselv, Norway 12–13 July

Is known for a good atmosphere and for returning audiences and is celebrating 40 years this year. The festival spreads over a large area with camping opportunities. Among others, CC Cowboys, Kvelertak, Ramon, Rolffa and Inge Bremnes perform.

KokelvLive in Kokelv, Norway July 12-13

Created for a more lively village and this year, among others, Halvdan Sivertsen, Kurt Nilsen, Moillrock and Mortel Abel will perform.

Kalix Summer Gala, July 15-21

Folk and family festival with shows, artists and a big focus on children’s entertainment. There will be performances with a focus on children, fairgrounds and concerts where, among others, Maxida Märak will perform.

Skájdde, cultural festival, 19-21 July

Sami cultural festival held for the third year in a row in the Storforsen nature reserve. Performing arts, theatre, linden dance between the trees, dance walk around the foothills, poetry slam, art exhibition and lots of other things.

Bukta Festival in Tromsø, Norway July 19-20

Is a music festival that offers rock and seafood. The festival also has a free concept: “Bukta for all”. Activities for people of all ages.

The Pomor Festival in Vardø, Norway July 24-28

Annual cultural festival with concerts, exhibitions and events for both children, young people and adults.

Bugøynes Festival in Bugøynes, Norway July 25-27

Festival with concerts, children’s games, fishing competition, food and other activities.

Márkomeannu in Evenes, Norway 25–28 July

The festival celebrates 25 years and has a clear Sami profile with music, visual arts, performing arts, literature, seminars, sports, walks, markets, children’s and youth programs.

Sørøyrocken in Sørvær, Norway 25–27 July

A music festival that has both Norwegian and Sami artists, where this year you can see Moillrock, Han Helge & Han Håkon, MinTrio, Felgen Orkester, Agnete Saba, and Timbuktu.

Storsjöyran in Östersund 26–28 July

Storsjöyran, also known simply as Yran, is one of Sweden’s oldest city festivals. This year with artists such as Zara Larsson, Lars Winnerbäck, Darin and Loreen.

Festivals in August

The Urkult Festival in Näsåker 1–3 August

Music and culture from different parts of the world. Activities, children’s theater, courses, workshops, poetry, crafts, organic food and Sami artists.

Goroso Festival in Nordreisa, Norway August 2-3

The festival started in 2019 and is now in its fifth year. Among others, Ballinciaga, Stavangerkameratene, Carina Dahl, Vassendgutan, Felgen Orkester and Morgan Sulele will perform.

Nordland Music Festival in Bodø, Norway 3–11 August

Music festival where the program mainly consists of classical music, but also jazz, folk music, musical theatre, dance, pop, rock and other genres.

The Varanger Festival in Vadsø, Norway 7–10 August

One of Finnmark’s biggest festivals and one of Norway’s oldest festivals with, among other things, jazz music and other genres.

Ijahis Idja in Enare, Finland August 16-17

The festival celebrating indigenous music celebrates 20 years. The event is the only music festival in Finland that concentrates on Sami music.

Alta Live in Alta, Norway August 16-17

Alta Live is a natural continuation of Aronne’s rock, with both Norwegian and Sami artists. This year you can see, among others, Bjørn Eidsvåg, Elle Maija, Rolffa, Highasakite, Postgirobygget and Sondre Justad. The festival is known for being atmospheric.

Rocket Night in Tromsø, Norway 22–24 August

Is a music festival that is divided into two. Rakettnatt and Rakettnatt free, the latter is a festival day with a 16-year-old limit. Both with famous artists, this year with, among others, Zara Larsson and Tiësto.

Autumn Sprell in Alta, Alta August 23-25

At Høstsprell, they promise good music and atmosphere and food service all weekend and 150 campsites next to the festival area.

Čakčariemut in Jukkasjärvi, 24 August

Autumn festival with craft market and activities suitable for the whole family. In the evening, Tullamore Dew and Rolffa play, among others.

Tjaktjen Tjåanghkoe 19-22 September

Southern Sami autumn festival in Snåsa, Norway with both artist performances and various lectures. Considered a cultural and social meeting place.
