Everything Announced at Google IO 2022

Google gave his keynote today at Google I/O, the annual developer conference. As expected, we received a lot of announcements regarding both hardware and software plans from Google. Android 13Chrome OS, Pixel 6a; Pixel WatchWe’ve received updates on the , Nest Hub, and more. Here’s a rundown of everything from today’s keynote.

Android 13

Google to the next version of the operating system; Android 13 was at the forefront today as it outlined a host of upcoming improvements. The focus for this iteration of the operating system from Google is what people love and making all your devices work better together to solve problems and help you throughout your day. After summarizing what has happened so far (RCS, Material You, etc.), Google has also announced Google Wallet, which will include payments, passes and Digital IDs coming later this year.

Pixel Watch

As expected, Google unveiled its new Pixel Watch during the keynote, but only as a preview. Now we know more about Google’s smartwatch. It runs on WearOS and a “new Wear experience,” and includes features like a heart rate monitor, step counting, and the ability to pair with your favorite Fitbit services. The watch will go on sale this fall alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Google also introduced the next budget phone in the Pixel A series, the Pixel 6a. The Pixel series is always eagerly awaited because they add the best Pixel camera features to an affordable smartphone. As expected, the Pixel 6s is powered by Google’s own Tensor processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It has a 6.1-inch screen and “24-hour” battery life.

Pixel Buds Pro

Among the products introduced today is a new Pixel Buds Pro with premium audio features with active noise cancellation, volume EQ, transparency mode and more. ANC is a first for Pixel Buds, so we’re excited to see it. Pixel Buds Pro has a similar design as in past years and of course still has hands-free “Hey Google” activation. Battery life lasts up to 7 hours on a single charge with ANC on. Pre-orders begin on July 21, and you can purchase it in-store on July 28. Its price will be $199.

The Pixel 7 is coming this fall and has an aluminum finish on the camera. Like the current generation, the Pixel 7 and 7Pro will have a dual/triple camera setup, respectively. The cameras have a slick oval appearance, unlike the solid black bar on the Pixel 6. They will have a new generation of Tensor processors. Of course, both phones will come with Android 13.

Pixel Tablet

After tablet optimizations, Google’s 2023 Pixel TabletHe’s coming too. The tablet will have a Google Tensor chip and will be designed to work with other Pixel devices. It will also have quite large frames according to the image shared by Google. It’s good to see some things never change.
