Pokémon GO Fest 2023 at a glance

When does it start? The global event starts on Saturday, August 26 at 10:00 local time and runs until Sunday, August 27 at 20:00 local time.

What does this cost? You can buy a ticket for the event, which costs 14.99 euros.

Do you have to buy a ticket? No. There is a lot of content that you can play without a ticket. With a ticket, however, you get more content.

What do you get for the ticket? The exact details are not yet known. What is certain is that there will be access to two special researches – one each per day. However, experience has shown that content such as additional raid passes, event stickers and other small rewards can be expected.

There are also two additional Timed Researches that those who pre-purchase tickets will get:

  • You get the first one if you buy the ticket before August 1st and play actively between July 15th and August 1st.
  • The second is available if you bought the ticket even before July 5th.
  • In 2022, new Pokémon and Shinys that come into play via the GO Fest were first available exclusively at the on-site events, but later also for everyone at the big GO Fest finals – without you having to have a ticket.

What new Pokemon could be there? In Reddit, the trainers already have a guess as to which new Pokémon could come with the GO Fest. You’ve spotted the sixth generation Mysterious Diancie with the Rock and Fairy types. You can tell by the pink crystals in the logo.

Some are also hoping for Rocara, also a sixth generation Rock and Fairy-type Pokémon. They identify this with the blue part of the logo.

However, this has not yet been officially confirmed.

3 live events take place on site

What about the live events? Even before the global event, there are three live events taking place at different locations.

It starts on August 4th, 5th and 6th in London. There will be exclusive game content and great bonuses, including:

  • Up to 18 Raid Passes per day
  • 5,000 additional XP per raid
  • 6 additional Candies for catching Pokémon in 5-Star and Mega Raids
  • 25% less path to hatch eggs
  • 3x candies when hatching
  • 3x Catch XP
  • 3x Stardust
  • Those who buy a ticket can walk through Brockwell Park for the first half of the day, while in the second half of the day the rewards are unlocked throughout the greater London area. A ticket for both events and all three days costs 27 pounds or the equivalent of almost 30.50 euros.

Also on August 4th, 5th and 6th there will be an event in Osaka (Japan).

The third event will take place on August 18th, 19th and 20th in New York.

What about the event in Vancouver? The city of Vancouver’s tourism website had accidentally announced a GO Fest that was supposed to take place as early as June. The post was quickly deleted and a content creator for Pokémon GO also directly denied the event. It is now clear that the GO Fest will not actually take place there. What exactly happened in Vancouver is not yet known.
