The Elder Scrolls Online will also be provided with new content in 2024. The focus is on the “Gold Road” expansion, which brings the “Scripture” feature to the MMORPG. This allows the character to adapt even better to the individual playing style.
What will TESO bring in 2024?
To accompany the expansion, there is a cinematic trailer that takes a first look at the expansion’s story. The DLC is primarily based on the color scheme of autumn, which is why the development team worked a lot with golden, red and brown tones:
In Gold Road the story from Necrom continues seamlessly
Spoiler alert: In the section “What’s the expansion about?” we’ll go over the story from Necrom and Gold Road.
What is the expansion about? Gold Road picks up directly from the cliffhanger from the Necrom expansion. We learn in the prologue that a long-forgotten Daedric prince named Ithelia escaped from her captivity.
A group calling themselves the Recollection wants to restore Ithelia’s powers to their former state. The Daedric Prince is currently wandering around the new area and has lost her memory. It’s up to the player to find out who Ithelia is and what was done to her by the other Daedric Princes.
The game is played in 3 different zones:
In Gold Road we end up in Westauen. The area is located west of Cyrodiil and hosts Skingrad as its capital. The area is visually based on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
New items, world bosses and dungeons – this is what Gold Road contains
What does the expansion contain apart from the story and areas?
The big highlight in Gold Road, however, is the new Scripture teaching feature.
The scripture system individualizes the playing style
What kind of system is this? Through lore, players can collect unique skills and customize them through primary, secondary, and tertiary effects. At launch, the lore system will focus on the “Weapon” and “World” skill lines. So all classes can take advantage of it.
Each of these skill lines will have at least one unique unlockable skill that we can configure. We have 3 different resources to choose from:
The aim of the function is to give players more freedom with their skills. The Scripture Doctrine is only available to those who also own the Gold Road DLC.
The system can also be used to customize the visual properties of an ability. At launch there will be 22 different color variants. All styles should be able to be unlocked or obtained in-game.
