After a skiing accident in Åre that almost resulted in her being paralyzed, Susanne Najafi got the energy to quit her job and start her own business, something the entrepreneur previously told The Swedish Daily.

– Instead of being depressed, I got incredible energy. I thought about what I wanted and the worst that could happen: if I didn’t succeed, I might have to take a job again.

After the dismissal, Susanne Najafi founded Unity Beauty Group, which in 2013 bought Eleven.se, one of the Nordics’ largest retailers in beauty today.

In total, Susanne Najafi has founded seven companies, including Clearlii, a contact lens company, Lokalii, a marketplace for local experiences and Olfactory, according to Today’s Industry.

Today, Susanne Najafi runs the venture capital company Backing Minds, which she founded together Sarah Wimmercrantz 2016.

– Through Backing Minds, I get to be involved in many entrepreneurial journeys. It’s a neat way to familiarize yourself with and solve various challenges and company problems, Susanne Najafi told Svenska Dagbladet shortly before she launched the company.

Susanne Najafi has been recognized with several awards.

Among other things, she has been named “Sweden’s top serial entrepreneur” by Dagens Industri, “Leader of the Year”, one of the “Most Powerful Women in Business” by Veckans Affärer and included in “Sweden’s Top 40 under 40”, according to Bünsow Business Growth Forum.

In an interview with The Express she has previously told us what it’s like to balance a busy working life with being a mother of small children.

– I see no limitations. I am a mother where everything is possible, and am very spontaneous. I trust to solve things in the moment and live extremely much in the moment. Then you connect a lot with the children because they also live in the present. But if it’s very organized and nice at home? Absolutely not. I can trip over the vacuum cleaner for a week and not think about moving it. But I don’t see it, I’m with my children.

Susanne Najafi Draknestet – has she been in the program?

Susanne Najafi was a guest kite in one episode of the SVT program Draknästet which aired on September 5, 2024.

In the episode, she chose, among other things, to invest in Tickital, a startup that allows users to rent or lease tickets in public transport. Together with Shervin Razani and Jonas Tellander she entered with 1.5 million kroner, according to Break it.
