Asus ROG Ally Release – When will the handheld appear?
When is the ROG Ally coming out? At the current time (as of April 2023) there is no official release date when the handheld will appear. According to Asus, the model should appear in summer 2023.
Asus explained to the tech channel Linus Tech Tips in a statement that the device should be released in the “next months” (via dexerto.com).

How much does the ROG Ally cost? According to a well-known leaker (via twitter.com), the device should cost between 649 and 699 US dollars. That would put the price around $100 higher than the most expensive Steam Deck model.
Valve called the price of the Steam Deck painful, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Asus priced the ROG Ally above the Steam Deck.

Asus ROG Specs and Performance – Faster than the Steam Deck?
A few YouTubers have already been allowed to try out the ROG Ally, but so far nobody has been allowed to talk about official specs and built-in hardware.
What hardware is in the ROG Ally? According to leaks, a completely new Ryzen processor with a graphics chip (a so-called APU) from AMD is in the system (via twitter.com). Supposedly, an APU that has 8 cores and 16 threads and should clock at 3.3 GHz. In the boost, the performance should even be increased to 5 GHz.
The first benchmarks already speak for a high performance of the ROG Ally, which should be well ahead of the Steam Deck.
How good is the battery life of the ROG Ally? The Steam Deck and other handheld devices are criticized for a rather weak battery life. Battery life could be the ROG Ally’s Achilles’ heel, especially considering the supposedly high performance. So far, no official information on the built-in battery or capacity is known.
