More than 1.3 million files, totaling more than 1.67 terabytes, were allegedly stolen from Sony’s first party studio. These files include concept art and gameplay footage, as well as employee personal information such as job forms, passports, and internal chat logs.
Japanese technology giant Sony made the following statement after learning of the ransomware attack: “We are aware of reports that Insomniac Games has been the victim of a cybersecurity attack. We are currently investigating this matter. We have no reason to believe that Sony or other SIE divisions were affected.”
Rhysida had previously announced that it would publish the hacked data if the 2 million USD it demanded was not paid. Anyone could make an offer for the hacked data, but as a result of this data being leaked to the internet by the group, no offer was made or the requested amount was not met.
According to Cyber Daily, Rhysida did not publish all of the information it obtained through the hack. According to the group, at the time of this writing, 98% of the data has already been leaked online. No details are known about the remaining 2% of the data.
