Fans of the zombie series The Walking Dead can probably think of a few moments from eleven seasons that were pretty bad. But often the worst scenes to watch aren’t the ones that were the most unpleasant to produce.
Not so in the case of TWD, where Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln still remembers the Filming a gruesome death scene have to think.
The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln thinks Glenn’s death scene went too far
We are of course talking about Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) death by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) at the end of the 6th and the beginning of the 7th season of The Walking Dead. Lincoln told Empire that they had overstepped the mark, lingered in the moment for too long and that it was one of the craziest night shoots of his career.
This even disturbed Negan actor Morgan, “One of the nicest guys you could ever meet, playing one of the most unpleasant characters”. Lincoln continued:
He had to deliver this extraordinary monologue on his first day of work and everyone was on their knees and cryingwhen they weren’t in front of the camera. [Morgan] came over to me and asked, ‘Is this normal?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, everyone just carries on.’ It was an extraordinary night.
Lincoln left The Walking Dead during Season 9, but that was not the end of Rick Grimes. He returned this year in his own spin-off series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which here on MagentaTV you can see.
