Everyday life after the Russian occupation: “Don’t know what tomorrow will be like”

In September 2022, Ukraine retook the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region after a six-month Russian occupation. Shortly afterwards, SVT’s team was on site in the city and met three women who told about their lives during the Russian occupation. Now, a year and a half later, SVT has met them again.

– We don’t take down the stove because we don’t know what tomorrow will be like, so we can at least make tea if needed. But for now we have gas, water and light so we survive, says Tamara.

Hear the women talk about everyday life in Izium in the video.
