Even the Ferrari boss is dumbfounded by Red Bulls superiority

Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas had to drive off the track at the beginning of the Belgian race. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez took the double victory in Spa.

The Dutch driver of Red Bull drove to a clear victory in the Belgium race of the Formula Ones Max Verstappen. In second place, Verstappen’s Mexican teammate twisted himself Sergio Perez and third, Ferrari’s Spaniard Carlos Sainz.

Sports expert Jukka Mildhin according to the competition was decided in the first round. Verstappen managed to avoid the initial crashes and bumps, after which the Dutchman started to grab the positions.

– He utilized the top features of the Red Bull car, which were highlighted on the Spa track, says Mildh.

According to him, Mercedes (George Russell and Lewis Hamilton) seemed relatively strong in advance and could have had a greater impact on the course of the race. However, Hamilton crashed out on the first lap.

A moment later, Alfa Romeo’s Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas the exit brought a safety car to the track. After that, Verstappen, who started from grid 13, started his rise.

– Verstappen is in the lead by almost one hundred (93) points at the moment and at the same time Perez took second place. Red Bull has everything right, says Mildh.

What are we talking about?

According to Mildh, the most interesting topic of conversation is Verstappen’s and Red Bull’s deafening superiority. Ferrari team manager after the Belgian race Mattia Binotto said he was not surprised by the competitor’s control.

– Max’s lead is so big that it is no longer enough, for example Charles (Leclerc) would win all races. We have to trust that Max will stop the races, said Binotto British media for Sky (you switch to another service).

According to expert Mildh, every feature of Red Bull reached its strengths on the Spa track; both drivers, engine, aerodynamics and pit stops.

– I interpreted that Binotto is starting to consider Red Bull superior. That’s a pretty worrying sign from Ferrari. They need to make significant changes to keep up, Mildh estimates.

Towards the end of the race, Ferrari’s Leclerc tried to set the fastest lap to get one extra point. The Monaco driver left the pit at an excessive speed and received a time penalty after the race. Leclerc dropped from fifth to sixth Fernando Alonso behind.

According to Mildh, the pursuit of a point was not an outright flop, although Ferrari failed in its attempt.

– Even though points were lost due to the fine and we were relegated down a notch, the risk had to be taken.

What about Bottas?

In the second round of the Belgian race, Williams’ Canadian crash Nicholas Latif spun and drifted in front of Valtteri Bottas. The Finn dodged Latif’s car, but drifted off the track. Bottas got stuck in the gravel from the bottom and had to leave the race in the early stages.

Mildh feels that the race could have been good for Bottas, who was confident in his car. According to the expert, the Spa track is challenging, so Bottas’ faith in his car sounded good to Mildh.

– He just didn’t survive it from the beginning. Bottas and the team couldn’t do anything about that situation. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, as he himself said.

Mildh speculated whether Bottas could have avoided the exit. He said this might not have happened if Bottas had been successful in his start.

– Bottas’ start was not very good. With a better start, he might have escaped the situation.

– The competition promised good things, but it is now history. I hope it goes better next weekend.

The Formula 1s will compete on the 2nd–4th. September in the Netherlands at the Zandvoort track.
