Did you know that you can also play PvP in Diablo 4? Nevertheless, hardly anyone does it, as shown by statistics published by developer Blizzard.
What are these stats? On June 11th, Blizzard briefly froze the time and pulled together current figures from Diablo 4 for some interesting statistics.
Game time, killed players in PvE, hardcore players at level 100 – here you can find the numbers after 10 days of Diablo 4 (including early access):
The playing time is particularly impressive. Recently, Blizzard also revealed how quickly Diablo 4 sold: within 5 days, sales reached 666 million US dollars (via activisionblizzard.com).
For comparison, there is a cracker from our own company: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the largest CoD release in history and achieved sales of around 1 billion dollars after 10 days.
However, at least one value in the statistics is a little disappointing: So far, only 430,000 players have been killed in the fields of hate, the PvP area of Diablo 4. The nasty butcher alone has broken down 10 times as many players into butcher-friendly bites.
Why is PvP so unpopular? That can only be speculated at the moment.
One reason is certainly the somewhat unfair system with the world levels. Currently you can enter the PvP area at world level 1 with a high level and live out your fantasies of power without restrictions. Blizzard is working on it, a patch should come soon.
In addition, Diablo 4 is more of a PvE game that offers a lot more content in the fight against NPCs. Some players don’t even think about going into PvP or just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
