Ica recalls its I love eco tortilla chips. The reason is that the substances atropine and scopolamine are in the product, the food company announces in a press release.
Atropine and scopolamine are organic compounds that occur naturally in plants found in cornfields. Moderate consumption poses no risks, but if you ingest too much it can cause dizziness, nausea and headaches.
Earlier this week, food company Paulig, which owns the Santa Maria brand, announced it was recalling its organic tortilla chips for the same reason. Coop has also recalled its tortilla chips from its own brand Änglamark.
