UTRECHT – It had to be the future of shopping, but that promise never solved the Aldi in the center of Utrecht. Today the first cashless supermarket in the Netherlands finally closed its doors and just like the past 2.5 years, the door was anything but flat this last day. “Cool concept, but in the wrong place,” says one of the sparing customers.
