Harry Potter is one of the most valuable brands in the Warner Bros. Discovery catalogue. However, the franchise expansion is not going as planned. Originally the Wizarding World will be expanded to include five Fantastic Beasts films. Since the box-office results got worse from part to part, it will probably be over after No. 3.

The Harry Potter future in Hollywood is uncertain. In addition to the possibility of a spin-off series on the HBO Max streaming service, the main two possibilities discussed: Harry Potter 8 with Daniel Radcliffe and Co. or a complete reboot telling the story of the Boy Who Lived from the beginning.

In an interview with GQ, Rupert Grint has now given his assessment of the Harry Potter situation. He starred as Ron Weasley in the original films. He assumes that the series will sooner or later subjected to a reboot will.

I would love to see a Harry Potter film adaptation as a series. I think that would work very well. I’m sure the films will be re-released anyway.

Nothing has been officially decided yet. The fact is, however, that Warner is very interested in to further expand the brand. David Zaslav, the new Warner boss, announced just last year that developing new Harry Potter films is high on a list of priorities.
