UN warns: a “colossal humanitarian catastrophe” looms in the Gaza Strip. Since this Saturday morning, Israel has been ordering new evacuations of the Palestinian population in Rafah, but also in the north of the enclave, as the army prepares to extend its offensive.

An estimated 300,000 Gazans have now found refuge in the humanitarian zone of al-Mawasi, according to the Israeli army. A procedure which aims to remove the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip from future combat zones in accordance with international law, according to the military.
These are additional neighborhoods of Rafah, the city in the south of the Palestinian enclave, where more than a million Gazans are refugees, which have been targeted by these evacuation orders since this Saturday morning.
The Israeli army spokesperson also asked residents of the Jabaliya and Beit Lahia region, at the northern end of the enclave, to evacuate and go “immediately to shelters west of Gaza City,” said the statement, which warned that Israeli troops would operate “with great force” in the area.
And also today, the armed wing of Hamas published an undated video, showing for around ten seconds an Israeli hostage, his face visibly swollen. Nadav Popplewell, 51, was captured on October 7 in the company of his mother, who was released 49 days later.
