In the fourth part of Melodifestivalen 2024 it was Danny Saucedo and Daughter who won the hearts of the viewers and made it to the finals.
This while Albin Tingwall and Scarlett made it through to the finals on March 2 – a result that Eurovision fans across Europe weren’t entirely happy with.

When Melodifestivalen’s official Youtube channel published the entries that either went out or went on to the final qualification, the biggest involvement was in the video for Scarlet and their song “Circus X”.
At the time of writing, the clip has received over 600 comments – while other entries from the sub-competition received between 35 and 200 comments – and several who liked the song seem to be Eurovision fans.
And out in Europe it seems that Scarlet deserved a final place. This is what some who have seen the contribution write:
“Sweden, you literally have a task, SEND THEM TO THE FINALS AND THEN TO ESC. This is what we want to see.”
“If this doesn’t make it to the final, I’m giving up on Sweden… They were outstanding, stole the show, amazing, wonderful, legends and overall… Unique!!”
“That this one did not go directly to the final is criminal.”
“This would have won almost any other national final without a doubt. But Sweden? Nah.”
“Sweden, this has to go to the final. They were a highlight. I can’t believe how they finished fourth. They should have settled for top 2?”
“Sweden is the only country in Europe that would send this for a second chance. This is BY FAR the best entry we heard this year in Melodifestivalen!”
“There are countries that dream of having a song like this, and for Sweden it’s just good enough for a second chance? Really? By far the strongest song in Melfest this year, alongside Maria Sur.“
“Absolutely robbed. By far the best performance and set design of the night. Sweden has committed a crime leaving this behind. There is no universe there Danny’s weak effort is better than this.”
