In a written statement from Europol, it was stated that 16 thousand personnel took part in the operations carried out with the support of Eurojust, Frontex and INTERPOL, as well as the security forces of 28 EU member countries.
It was reported that 159 of 382 people were detained for migrant smuggling, 112 for drug trafficking, 38 for arms smuggling, 2 for human trafficking and 71 for other crimes.
Within the scope of the operations, 32 thousand 665 vehicles and 998 places were searched, 75 thousand people identity checks were made, and approximately 2 tons of narcotic drugs, 5 thousand 402 marijuana plant roots and many firearms were confiscated.
Europol stated that 130 new investigations were opened as a result of these operations. (AA)
