Berat Kjamili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of We Code, said in his statement to AA correspondent that they dream of making Turkey a center of talent in the field of technology and artificial intelligence.

Kjamili stated that they want people to think of artificial intelligence experts and young people who lead technology when Turkey is mentioned, and noted that young people develop both their technical and social skills in the workshops.

Pointing out that they facilitate the employment of young people in technology companies by training them in the fields of software, artificial intelligence and social skills, Kjamili said, “In addition to technical skills, we also provide young people with social skills such as teamwork and giving feedback. We also lead them to find jobs with interview preparation support.” he said.

Kjamili stated that their association has reached nearly 300 thousand graduates to date, that the workshops and digital trainings are completely free, and that they have achieved this through cooperation with international companies, foundations and funders, support from development agencies and ministry funds.

Congratulations from the EU Presidency

Kjamili made the following statements regarding his association, which also develops projects in cooperation with TÜBİTAK, being selected as “Europe’s most successful deep technology trainer”:

“The European Commission has a goal of training 1 million deep technology talents. Turkey is included in this. They wanted to reward the institutions that work with them for this mission. We were chosen as the first institution in Europe as the institution that develops the most talent among the organizations and associations that are members of their initiatives. Especially in data science, cyber We reached 6 thousand 785 young people with our deep technology training in the field of security and software. We never expected to receive such an award because we did not apply for the award at the ‘Deep Technology’ event organized by the European Commission in Warsaw, Poland. “We received it on the same day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union (EU) Presidency congratulated us and shared it on their social media. We were very proud.”

Explaining that they have been trying to reach more young people for about 8 years, Kjamili said that they aim to reach 1 million young people and provide software, cyber security and artificial intelligence workshops and digital training.

Kjamili said, “Our biggest dream is not just 1 million talents in Europe. 1 million talents in Europe come from Turkey. Our call to young people is to be pioneers in the software field, to code the future, to get involved, to include, to take action.” he said.
