Brussels confirmed on Tuesday 20 August its intention to impose a five-year surcharge on electric cars from China, in order to preserve the European market. The European Union nevertheless wishes to keep the door open to a negotiated solution with Beijing. This measure sounds like a warning, but European countries remain divided on the subject.
