European stock markets close in the red. Campari and Stellantis do poorly in Milan

The markets of the Old Continent are all positive

(Finance) – The indices of Piazza Affari and the other main European stock exchanges were all negative at the end. On the American market, considerable progress has been made for theS&P-500.

Slight growth ofEuro / US Dollarwhich rises to 1.029. Slight decline ingoldwhich drops to 2,640.4 dollars an ounce. Positive session for oil (Light Sweet Crude Oil), showing a gain of 1.11%.

The excellent performance of Wall Streetdriven by the good macro data coming from the manufacturing sector, is therefore not enough to lift Piazza Affari and the other European stock exchanges.

In Milan, a day to forget Campari – in the wake of the other stocks in the alcohol sector after the publication of a report in the United States on the correlation between alcohol and cancer by the White House health advisor – and Stellantis which pays for the drop in sales in Italy in December and throughout 2024, as do Iveco and Pirelli who are suffering from the difficulties shown by the market. The food sector is also suffering luxury and that banking: Banco Bpm (-1%) and Mps (-0.9%), which announced the early repayment of Tier 1 bonds, the worst.

Unchanged spreadwhich is positioned at +112 basis points, with the yield on the ten-year BTP standing at 3.59%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent moves below parity Frankfurthighlighting a decrease of 0.59%, a moderate contraction for Londonwhich suffers a drop of 0.44%, and a terrible performance for Pariswhich recorded a decline of 1.51%.

Negative session for Piazza Affari, with the FTSE MIB which leaves 0.72% on the floor, breaking the positive chain of three consecutive increases, which began last Friday; along the same lines, widespread sales on FTSE Italia All-Sharewhich closed the day at 36,334 points.

Slightly down FTSE Italia Mid Cap (-0.64%); on the same trend, in red the FTSE Italia Star (-0.85%).

At the top of the most important shares in Milanmarks a good increase Saipemwhich reports a +2.18% compared to the previous one.

The strongest sales, however, hit Campariwhich ended trading at -5.21%.

The negative performance of Stellantiswhich falls by 3.52%.

Moncler drops by 3.24%.

Decline decided for Ivecowhich marks -2.78%.

Between the best stocks in the FTSE MidCap, Maire (+1.66%), Ariston Holding (+1.28%), Multiply Group (+1.22%) e Alerion Clean Power (+1.20%).

The worst performances, however, were recorded on Philogenwhich closed at -4.17%.

Under pressure El.Enwith a sharp decline of 3.30%.

He suffers Ferragamowhich highlights a loss of 2.95%.

Prey for sellers Brembowith a decrease of 2.84%.
