After their historic 7-0 defeat at Anfield on March 5, Manchester United raised their head at Old Trafford by largely dominating Bétis Sevilla 4-1 on Thursday March 9 in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League. The Mancunians with this victory almost take shelter for the return Thursday, March 16.
Most of the teams have maintained their rank as favourites. AS Roma easily defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 like FC Sevilla won Fernerbahce. Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Monaco in the round of 16, won with the same scoreline against Ferencvaros. Juventus had more difficulty but secured the essential 1-0 before traveling to Germany. Finally Shakhtar and Feyenoord, Union Berlin and Royale Union SG and Sporting – Arsenal all ended in a draw. The Premier League leader did not shine and took advantage of a CSC to come back to score in the second half.

The group stage of the Europa Football League is played from Thursday September 8, 2022 to Thursday November 3, 2022 while the knockout stage will be played from Thursday February 16, 2023 to Thursday May 18, 2023.
