(Finance) – The trade deficit of the Eurozone increased in March, recording a deficit of 16.4 billion euros, compared to the deficit of 8.8 billion in February.
The figure, disclosed byStatistical Institute of the European Union (Eurostat), indicates that exports amounted to € 250.1 billion, up 14% year-on-year, while imports in the same period rose 35.4% to € 266.5 billion.
L’commercial interchange within the single currency area, it reached € 236.8 billion, an increase of 21.2% compared to March 2021.
For the entire European Union there was a deficit of 27.7 billion euros, compared to the surplus of 18.7 billion recorded in the previous month. Exports increased by 12.8%, while imports recorded a growth of 40.4% compared to the previous year.
