(Finance) – In March 2022, the unemployment falls in the euro area. According to the Statistical Office of the European Union (EUROSTAT), the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6.8% compared to 6.9% the previous month (revised from a preliminary of 6.8%).
The data, however, is slightly above estimates of analysts who indicated 6.7%. In the’whole EU the unemployment rate fell to 6.2% and compares with 6.3% in February. Eurostat estimates that 13,374 million men and women in the EU, including 11,274 million in the euro area, were unemployed in March 2022.
As of March 2022, 2.579 million young people (under 25) were unemployed in the EU, of which 2.098 million in the euro area. In March 2022, the youth unemployment rate it was 13.9% in both the EU and the euro area, down from 14% in both areas the previous month.
