(Finance) – There are slight signs of improvement in the European consumer confidence from the latest monthly survey, conducted by the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Community (DG ECFIN).
The flash estimate of the data on consumer confidence of theeurozone indicates for the month of May a level equal to -21.1 points compared to -22 in April. Market expectations were for an improvement of up to -21.5 points.
OverallEuropean Union the indicator is equal to -22.2 points (-0.4 points compared to the previous month). Both indicators remain below the long-term trajectory.
