It was his first role in a TV series and he made it his own like a pro: Angus Cloud starred in Euphoria Drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill, who became a fan favorite and the heart of the show with his rough exterior and great empathy. During the night, his family announced that Cloud was found dead on Monday.
Angus Cloud was discovered by accident for Euphoria
Cloud was born in Oakland, California in 1998 and studied production design at the Oakland School of Arts. One of his classmates was his later co-star Zendaya.
While working at a restaurant in New York, Cloud was spotted by casting director Jennifer Venditti and landed the role of Fez on Sam Levinson’s teen series Euphoria. Shortly after the start, this developed into one Pop culture phenomenon that has catapulted actors like Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and Cloud to fame.

Angus Cloud in Euphoria
For two seasons, Angus Cloud played the warm-hearted dealer who takes care of his “adopted” little brother Ashtray (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton) and becomes a close confidante for Zendaya’s main character, Rue, outside of school life.
In addition, Cloud took on supporting roles in North Hollywood – Your Board.Your Rules. and in the drama The Line opposite John Malkovich. He had also finished filming Freaky Tales, starring Pedro Pascal and Ben Mendelsohn.
The family expresses itself in a statement
On July 31, Cloud was found dead at his Oakland home by firefighters. According to Variety, a statement from the family said:
It is with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible person today. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. He buried his father last week and struggled intensely with this loss. The only consolation we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend. Angus has been open about his struggle with mental health, and we hope his passing can serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and shouldn’t fight this battle in silence.
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson told The Hollywood Reporter:
There was nobody quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and far too young to leave us so soon. He also, like many of us, struggled with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will.
Cloud is survived by his mother, Lisa Cloud Hickey, and his two twin sisters, Molly Hickey and Fiona Hickey. He was only 25 years old.
