Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited liberated Kherson on Monday. Inside the city, the Russian retreat has been celebrated in the streets and squares all weekend.
TV4 News’ Jona Källgren has spoken to several of the celebrating Kherson residents. There, joy is mixed with sadness – Vlad, who wept with happiness when he saw the Ukrainian soldiers last week.
He has also met Eugen, who is happy about the liberation – but who he wished could celebrate with his brother, who was killed a week ago.
– If he could have waited… If he had managed three more days, he would have experienced this with me, he says.
