The European Union is losing its “Mister climate”. Dutchman Frans Timmermans, Vice-President of the Commission and promoter of the European Green Pact, officially resigned from his post in Brussels on Tuesday August 22 to try to become Prime Minister of the Netherlands and thus succeed the liberal Mark Rutte.
