(Finance) – Nel 2020in the’European Union have occurred 193,893 deaths due to mental and behavioral disorders, accounting for 3.7% of all deaths in the EU. Mental and behavioral disorders include dementia, schizophrenia, and even disorders related to the use of psychoactive substances, such as alcohol or drug addiction. We read it in a report by Eurostat on the topic.
The EU standardized mortality rate for mental and behavioral disorders was 39.1 deaths per 100,000 people in 2020 (from 28.6 deaths in 2011), with a higher mortality rate among males (40.1) compared to females (36.8).
Regarding deaths due to ailments related to alcohol consumptionin 2020, the EU standardized mortality rate was 3.6 deaths per 100,000 peoplecompared to 3.2 deaths in 2011.
This rate was particularly high in some EU countries: Slovenia (17.3 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants), Poland (10.1), Denmark (7.3), Croatia (6.5), Austria and Latvia (both 6, 2). At the other end of the scale, the rate was at minimum in Greece, ItalyMalta (all with 0.4 deaths per 100,000 people), Spain and Cyprus (both 0.5).
