The EU is working for a structural reform of the electricity market and emergency intervention as part of overcoming the rising energy prices. This is stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in a speech on site in Slovenia.
Ursula von der Leyen points out that the current system was developed under completely different circumstances and goals, and the high prices now mean that the problems must be urgently tackled.
