During 2020 and 2021, agreements for covid vaccines were concluded between the Commission and several pharmaceutical companies. In 2021, some MPs and private individuals requested access to the agreements and related documents. The commission then only posted certain contracts and documents online, in redacted versions, and kept secret, among other things, the price of the vaccine doses.
According to the court, the Commission “did not take sufficient account of all the relevant circumstances in order to correctly weigh the relevant interests” in the matter. The Commission’s decision is therefore annulled.
