Among the sanctions lists include members of the Belarusian Central Election Commission and representatives of the judiciary.
The European Union is expanding sanctions against Belarus. Persons and communities who have committed human rights offenses and weakened the state of democracy in Belarus will be added to the sanctions list, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the sanctions lists include members of the Belarusian Central Election Commission, representatives of the judiciary and actors who are seen to have committed significant human rights crimes and the state of democracy in Belarus.
EU Member States accepted the extension of sanctions on Thursday.
The EU has been targeting both persons and sector sanctions in Belarus since 2004. The sanctions have been set in response to both the internal situation of the country and the involvement of the Russian Ukraine in the invasion war.
Currently, 285 people and 40 communities are listed in the sanctions system. Belarus is also subject to a ban on arms export. Belarusian airlines have been banned from overflow, ascent and fall in the EU.
Persons listed on the sanctions list shall be subject to an entry and transit ban in the EU and their funds and financial resources are frozen.
