(Finance) – The European Commission approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Spain’s Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales (Value it) by the US Morgan Stanley Infrastructure (MSI).
Value it collects, treats, recycles and manages wasteincluding construction and demolition debris, e produces electricity and gas following such activities. She is also active, among others, in urban street cleaning, urban furniture management and pavement maintenance in Spain, Australia and Colombia. MSI, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, invests in infrastructure assets.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition it would not raise competition problems, as the companies’ activities do not overlap and are not vertically linked. The transaction was reviewed under the simplified merger review procedure.
