EU Coldiretti wrong nature restoration law

(Telestock) – Coldiretti expresses satisfaction with Brussels’ decision to authorize Member States to pay higher advances of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funds to agricultural producers. A measure that the Confederation had also strongly requested in the mobilizations in Brussels and that responds to liquidity needs.

As learned today, starting from October 16th, in fact, farmers pwill be able to receive up to 70% of direct payments in advance, compared to the current 50%, mwhile advances for interventions based on area and animals from the Rural Development Fund will be able to reach up to 85%, exceeding the current limit of 75%.

“It is a necessary intervention to support the agricultural companies in difficulty due, in particular, to the continuing climate changes and the increase in production costs and with bank rates still high despite the recent cut by the ECB”we read in the note.
