(Finance) – The European Commission has approved, pursuant to the EU Merger Regulation, theacquisition of joint control of France LNG Shipping by Geogas Maritime, both based in France, and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), based in Japan, DIF Management, based in the Netherlands, and Marigold, based in Luxembourg.
The operation mainly concerns the market of Maritime transport of liquefied natural gas.
The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise any competition concernsgiven the limited market positions of the companies concerned resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger control procedure.
