EU authorizes sale of part of Enel’s Greek subsidiary

EU Commission clears acquisition of Valoriza by Morgan Stanley

(Finance) – The European Commission has approved, pursuant to the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Greek society Enel Green Power Hellas (EGPH) by Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 2 and Enel Green Power (EGP).

The operation primarily involves asset development, production and subsequent sale of renewable energy. The operation was announced by Is in the in July.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given the limited combined market position of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger control procedure.
