(Finance) – The European Commission has approved, under the EU merger regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Nissan Austria and Nissan Poland by the Spanish Astara.
Nissan Austria and Nissan Poland distribute Nissan-branded vehicles, parts and accessories in Austria and Poland, respectively. Astara is active inimport, wholesale and retail distribution of vehicles of different brands. It is also active in the sale of spare parts, the provision of after-sales services, financing and other services in several European and Latin American countries, as well as in the Philippines.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition it would not raise competition problemsgiven the limited combined market position of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction.
