In Ethiopia, nearly four months ago, the World Food Program (WFP) and the United States Agency for International Development (Usaid) suspended their aid in the Tigray region following a widespread diversion of food resold on the local market. Today, local authorities say 1,400 people died of starvation because of the suspension.
