For many Swedes, a couple of bags of chips are a must-buy for the perfect weekend. Others might have a bag of chips and dip for dinner on a weeknight when you just don’t feel like cooking.
Estrella releases chips – with an 18-year-old limit
Today there is a large number of flavors to choose from on the chip shelf as well as a number of different brands that sell the chips. One of our absolute biggest chip giants is Estrella.
Estrella has a number of different chip flavors that are permanent, but every now and then temporary flavors come to visit. Among other things, they released chips with an 18-year limit.

Why? Well, because of the extreme heat.
– Chips that are as chilli hot as these can give rise to both taste numbness on the tongue and stomach ache. Based on our tests, these are so hot that we do not want to recommend them for children. When we offer tests and hold competitions, there will therefore be an age limit of 18, said Estrella’s brand manager at the time Karin Isaksson.
Nyheter24 tested the chips and was able to state that an age limit was, to say the least, necessary.
But now it’s another temporary flavor from Estrella that quickly came and went. But the quick exodus was, in short, due to the fact that the chips sold out so quickly.

It was only a measly two weeks ago that the chips of the “West Coast Chips Truffle & Sea Salt” variety were released onto the store’s shelves. The customers liked the taste so much that the bags were consumed in a hurry. Yes, so fast that they are now almost sold out.

But what does it look like, will the chips come in another round? If you see a bag out in the store, is it best to get it when it’s out of stock?
News24 contacted Estrella and asked.
– Yes, that’s right, our West Coast Chips Truffle & Sea Salt have become a real sales success. However, we cannot say that there is a shortage of the product because it is a Limited Edition, which means that we only produce a pre-determined, smaller volume of the product, answers Christopher Westerbergpress manager at Estrella.
– However, the interest has been enormous and the product has sold out much faster than we expected. So a clear sales success. Of course great fun!
So when it’s over, it’s over?
– Yes it is true.
