The bookgram, which is an important piece of the puzzle to understand what happened when Estonia sank, has been picked up from the sea. The twelve-ton bow ramp was recovered shortly after 02:00 on Tuesday.

The work was delayed because the outside of the ramp needed to be excavated to prevent it from collapsing. It will now be taken to Estonia for examination.

The National Accident Commission and the corresponding authorities from Estonia and Finland are investigating Estonia’s wrecks for the third summer in a row.
