Estonia is preparing to raise the prices of fixed electricity

According to Estonian Yleisradio, the Eesti Energia company will announce the prices of new electricity contracts in the coming days.

The Estonian company Eesti Energia plans to raise the prices of new, fixed electricity contracts due to the breakage of the Estlink 2 electricity cable, says Estonian public radio ERR.

Eesti Energia’s investigation work is still in progress, but it plans to inform about the new prices of electricity contracts in the next few days.

– I can definitely say that the effect on the price is quite negative. The price will probably increase, says the company’s energy manager Armen Kasparov for ERR.

However, according to Kasparov, the situation is now milder than during the previous Estlink 2 outage this year. During the year, wind and solar parks have been opened in Estonia as well as elsewhere in the Baltics.
