EssilorLuxottica and Grandvision sale of Italian stores closed to Vision

(Finance) – EssilorLuxottica And GrandVision announce some changes to the management team of GrandVision. Stephan Borchert and Willem Eelman have resigned from their respective roles as CEO and Chief Financial Officer of GrandVision, with effect from 22 April. They will be replaced respectively by Massimiliano Mutinelli as the new President Optical Retail EMEA of EssilorLuxottica and Head of Amsterdam Corporate Offices of GrandVision, and Niccolò Bencivenni as Chief Financial Officer of GrandVision, flanked by Frederic Dauche, confirmed in the role of Chief Operating Officer of GrandVision.

Stephan Borchert was appointed CEO of GrandVision in 2018. Starting from a consolidated group reality, Stephan and his team have contributed to making GrandVision a leading group in the optical retail sector, with a strong omnichannel approach and a presence in over 40 countries. Over the past four years, Stephan has transformed GrandVision into a reference company, with a significant increase in shareholder value. In 2021, the Group also achieved the most important business results in its history.

Willem Eelman served on GrandVision’s Supervisory Board and served as Chairman of the Audit Committee from 2011 to 2019, playing a key role in GrandVision’s transition to a listed company following the 2015 IPO. CFO of GrandVision, contributing, together with Stephan, to the strong performance in recent years.

As part of the integration process, GrandVision’s Supervisory Board will end its mandate starting April 22.
