ESPN Gordon Herbert nominated for head coach of the Australian

Gordon Herbert, who piloted the German men’s basketball team to the world championship in 2023, is one of the main candidates for Australia’s national team coach.

Finnish-Canadian Gordon Herbert65, is a candidate for the head coach of the Australian national basketball team, according to sources ESPN.

Herbert, 65, who left the position of head coach of the German national team after the Paris Olympics, last summer signed a two-year head coaching contract with reigning German Euroleague champions Bayern Munich.

Herbert has been awarded Coach of the Year at the Finnish Sports Gala. At the national team level, Herbert has led not only Germany, but also Georgia, Canada and Finland’s youth national teams.

The head coach of Australia is also in his second season coaching the Atlanta Hawks Quin Snyderwhose team is played by Boomers players Dyson Daniels.

Korisma, who finished sixth in men at the Paris Olympics, is among the top players Josh GiddeyDaniels and Jock Landale.

Australia’s next big competition is the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
